I was talking to a friend today, a Bush supporter, and we mulled over what seems to be a widening abdication of responsibility at all levels of government and throughout our communities. He views Bush's tepid response to the disaster as emblamatic of a broader social problem, and he may be onto something.
At some point blame and anger become exhausting and futile. I'll keep your family and friends in my prayers.
