Is Pittsburgh burning?
Since I beat up on the Pittsburgh firefighers union, I'll give them credit for offering to cut $10.7 million from their budget. And the Trib has a new blog.

J,
What you might want to mention is that a local newspaper likely would want to check exactly where response times are now. With X number of firefighters on staff, how do we perform now delivery emergency services? Unfortunately, as you know, 911 dispatch data, including log times, are not allowed under the Commonwealth's worthless-as-piss FOIA law.
So we have to take at face value city claims that they're doing a good enough job, and firefighter claims that they're not.

We'll see what they say when all of five people are riding that thing every day.
