Wake me when the Reichstag burns
This and this make me despair of the Democrats taking control of Congress this year, assuming there was ever a chance to begin with. And if you don't think it matters, then consider this.

all i can picture in my mind is a heaveyweight boxer, the best there is climbing into the ring wearing blue trunks and the opponent an overfed, bloated, out of shape old rich whiteguy in red trunks with an elephant tattooed on his flabby forearm and as the bell sounds, the boxer in blue falls to the mat and is counted out even before the gross old guy in the red trunks smirks and attempts to throw the first jab without tripping over his shoe laces or choking on a pretzel!
god, what else do the democrats need, a nanny???

For what it's worth, you can sleep through the Reichstag inferno. The jackboots kicking down your front door will wake you with no trouble. That's if you're really worried about wiretapping and such. You don't think that Bush bashing bloggers are going unnoticed, do you?
